HOME AND COMMUNITY BASED SERVICES
HCBS services are designed to assist Ability members in acquiring, retaining and improving the self-help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community-based setting. The services include the provision of training in independent living skills or special developmental skills, orientation and mobility training, sensory-motor development, habilitation, and behavioral management.
Habilitation services are designed to assist Ability members in acquiring, retaining and improving the self help, socialization and adaptive skills necessary to reside successfully in home and community based settings. These services include the provision of training in independent living skills or special developmental skills, orientation and mobility training, sensory-motor development, and behavioral management.
Attendant Care services provide a qualified individual to supply needed services in order for a member to remain in the member’s home and/or participate in work and community activities. These services include, but are not limited to: meal-prep and clean-up, eating and assistance with eating, bathing, dressing and grooming, toileting, mobility, transferring, housekeeping/homemaker and cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc.
Respite is a service that provides short-term care and supervision consistent with the needs of the person to supplement care to provide a safe living environment and/or to support or relieve caregivers for the benefit of the person.
